I completed a month without my Apple Watch

I made it a month without my beloved Apple Watch. The one device that I said that I couldn’t do without. The one device that I have been wearing almost every day since it was launched back in 2015. I felt (and still feel) it is the best Apple product that I have ever owned.

What was it like to be without my favorite piece of tech for an entire month? It was a mixed bag. There were elements that I missed almost every day and others that I was glad to be without. Let me explain

I have covered…

I have struggled with this for years. I quit Facebook for 3 years (after Trump won) and it was so good for many of the reasons you described. Like the recovering alcoholic, I thought I could just "have one" after being sober for three years and I fell right back into it. New Facebook account, new twitter, new instagram.... It is a double edged sword but one side of the sword is much sharper than the other.

Great article, Thank You

It isn’t David vs Goliath

Ever since the iPhone came out with a Plus or Max version of their phones, I always opted for the largest screen possible. I just accepted that carrying around a big slab of metal and glass was just part of my daily life. I was going through life using only one of my hands as the other held my phone.

This changed a bit a few years back when I tried the 2016 iPhone SE. I love the compactness of the phone and the updated specs it contained. Battery life was not great, but I thought that it was a…

I am loving my new home

With great trepidation, I put out into the public eye my thoughts and feelings of the state of my country. I was mulling it over and over for the last few months, and when I saw a new clip of Trump speaking in Florida on the news, I cracked. My blood pressure shot up probably 50 points, and I decided that I had to get out!

I worried about being one of those whiny little bitches complaining about the country that has given so much to me. I said just shut up and turn the channel. I then thought about…

But you still may want it

I am finishing up week two of my no Apple Watch month challenge. It has been weird, to say the least. But, having worn the Apple Watch almost daily since its launch six years ago, going without it for two weeks has opened my eyes to a new way of thinking.

The second week was similar to the first. I missed a few features of the watch and found out that I was somewhat addicted to it. Maybe addiction is the wrong word. Let’s just say that I formed some bad habits that were tough to shake.

It is everywhere if you know where to look

People are always looking for beauty in this world.

It is easy to see the beauty in the Grand Canyon, a baby sleeping peacefully in their crib, or a fantastic landscape. But, that is not the beauty I am talking about. Instead, I am talking about things you see in your day-to-day life that are beautiful if you only take the time to slow down and look.

The other day, I walked down the street in NYC and saw a tree that looked like it grew straight out of the concrete. It was amazing. In a sea of metal and…

They have a lot in common

Euro 2020, I am not going to talk much about the game. It was a great game. England controlled the first half, and Italy dominated the second half. Italy prevailed on penalty kicks and won the game.

That is not the end of the story; it is actually just the beginning of the legacy of Euro 2020. I can’t imagine that anyone reading this does not know what happened after the game, but I will explain briefly. Three black players on England missed penalty kicks that could have won England the game. …

My life in words

We all know that life is very short. I hopefully do not have to explain that to anyone. Every day is a gift, and we should appreciate every sunrise and sunset.

Roll the clock ahead to the end of your life, and as you lay on your deathbed and are looking back, how are you going to be remembered? I know you will hopefully say that you were a good person, helped others, maybe raised a good family. They are all important and admirable, but really, let’s be honest, How will people think of you in two years? Or five…

I am mentally checking out

If I can’t physically leave America, I am going to mentally leave.

I am fed up with America and all its bullshit, Fuck Trump, Fuck the GOP, Fuck AOC and her Squad. The corporate greed, the me me me, Instagram culture. I am so done with the stupid Rednecks driving around in their 7 MPG Super Duty F350’s when they work in the warehouse at COSTCO while the world is burning up before our eyes. I am sick of the cops killing people for no other reason than being born a different color.

I am sick of living in a…

For at least a month, maybe forever

One thing that I could count on in my life was my Apple Watch. I have written a few pieces discussing my love and affection for the piece of tech. I wrote about all of its time-saving functions and its health benefits. I actually called it the one Apple product that I couldn’t live without. I am really into the Apple Watch! I have about a million different bands, and matching band to watch face is part of my getting dressed in the morning.

That is about to change.

I have attempted to embrace a more intentional and minimalistic lifestyle…
